Honda Pilot Check Fuel Cap Warning. I am getting check fuel cap message. In some cases Honda check engine light may come on but no other symptoms are present. Open the fuel door. The check fuel cap light is tripped when your cap has been loose or off and the engine is running.
Ever had the annoying check gas cap light on youre dash heres a quick and easy fix. If it is loosen the cap then retighten it at least 3 clicks. Otherwise it would have thrown an EVAP related trouble code most likely P0457. We replaced the fuel cap with a new one purchased from Honda. You can only tighten the cap so far. I tightened the cap again but it did not go away.

This is the first time in nearly 100000 miles and 2 Honda Pilots that I have ever had a problem with a Pilot. Then I got it cleared. This would be the case of a loose gas cap.
