Key Stuck In Ignition Honda Accord. When the weather gets real cold below freezing the key gets stuck in the ignition after I turn the car off. While it would seem like the most likely cause for a key to get stuck in the ignition at first compared to it being a bad key this is not nearly as likely. I even restarted the car put it in gear then shifted back into park and shut the car off again but the key remained stuck. I have an Accord 2003.

The same thing happened to my 2003 Honda Accordtook it to the dealership and they had to replace my shift lever entirely. While I insert the key to start or try to remove the key to stop engine. I drive a 1990 Honda Accord automatic with about 145000 miles on it. Car starts fine and is in park. Saturday night my wife drove my 05 Accord EX-L coupe with automatic transmission. If you key is stuck in your ignition this will fix it.
